Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has highlighted what he described as major achievements recorded by his administration since assuming office, revealing that his government has constructed and rehabilitated over 414 roads across the state within three years.
Governor Otti also disclosed that his administration successfully reduced Abia State’s debt profile by about 60 percent, describing the feat as part of efforts to restore financial stability and reposition the state for rapid development.
Speaking during an official engagement, the governor said his administration inherited enormous infrastructural decay and financial challenges but remained committed to transforming the state through prudent management of public resources.
According to him, road construction and rehabilitation have remained top priorities of his government in order to improve transportation, boost economic activities, and make life easier for residents across Abia communities.
Otti stated that several roads abandoned for years had now been completed while new projects were ongoing in different parts of the state.
The governor further noted that reducing the debt burden was necessary to free up resources for development projects and improve service delivery across critical sectors including education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
He assured residents that his administration would continue to focus on transparent governance, accountability, and people-oriented projects aimed at improving the welfare of Abians.
Governor Otti’s remarks come amid increasing political discussions over governance performance and infrastructural development across states in Nigeria.
