A tragic road accident along the ever-busy Abuja–Kaduna Highway has claimed the life of a senior Nigerian military officer, Major A.M. Abubakar.
The fatal crash occurred on Saturday, March 28, at Azara village near Jere in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to reports, the accident involved a commercial Sharon bus carrying passengers and a truck belonging to BUA Cement.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama revealed that the deceased officer was a student at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and was travelling in the commercial vehicle at the time of the collision.
The impact of the crash was said to be severe, resulting in the instant death of Major Abubakar at the scene, while other passengers reportedly sustained minor injuries and received treatment.
His remains have since been deposited at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, where his personal belongings were also handed over to his family.
As of the time of this report, authorities have not officially confirmed the cause of the accident.
