Tension has risen in Washington, D.C. following reports of unidentified drones flying over a sensitive U.S. military installation housing top government officials.

According to reports by the Washington Post, the drones were detected over Fort McNair, a high-security facility where U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth are said to reside.

Sources familiar with the situation revealed that the origin of the drones remains unknown, raising serious security concerns within U.S. defense and intelligence circles.

The incident has reportedly triggered internal discussions about the possible relocation of the top officials from the base. However, a senior administration official confirmed that both Rubio and Hegseth have not been moved and remain at the facility.

The development comes amid heightened military alert linked to ongoing tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, prompting closer monitoring of potential aerial threats.

Authorities, including the Pentagon and the U.S. State Department, have declined to issue official statements regarding the incident. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell also refused to comment on the matter, citing security concerns.

“The department cannot comment on the secretary’s movements for security reasons,” he stated, describing public reporting on such issues as irresponsible.

As investigations continue, the presence of unidentified drones over one of America’s most secure military bases has raised fresh concerns about national security vulnerabilities and the evolving nature of aerial threats.
