The House of Representatives Nigeria has been thrown into mourning following the death of Hon. Hassan Danjuma, who represented Dawakin-Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency of Kano State.
The first-term legislator, elected in 2023, reportedly died after a brief illness, according to a statement released by his media aide, Muazzam Dawakin-Kudu.
His passing was confirmed on Friday, with the statement expressing deep sorrow and offering prayers for the repose of his soul.
Before his death, Danjuma was initially elected under the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party but later defected to the African Democratic Congress. He was known to maintain close political ties with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
According to family and associates, the late lawmaker will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 11, 2026, following funeral prayers scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the National Mosque in Abuja.
Until his passing, Danjuma was described as an active and committed member of the National Assembly, participating in legislative activities and contributing to debates on national issues.
