Oyo Police Debunk Reports Claiming Abducted Students, Teachers Have Been Rescued

The Oyo State Police Command has dismissed widespread reports claiming that abducted students, pupils, and teachers in Orire Local Government Area of the state have regained their freedom.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Command described the reports circulating across social media platforms as false, misleading, and capable of disrupting ongoing security operations.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the victims are still being held captive while security agencies continue coordinated rescue efforts to secure their safe release and arrest those behind the abduction.

“The Oyo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the abducted students, pupils, and teachers in Orire Local Government Area are yet to be released, as intensive efforts by security agencies continue to ensure their safe rescue and the arrest of those responsible for the criminal act,” the statement read.

The Command further urged members of the public to avoid spreading unverified information capable of creating panic among residents and relatives of the victims.

Police authorities assured residents that joint security teams remain committed to rescuing the victims unharmed while investigations and operations continue across affected areas.
