Osun Poll: APC Fires Back at Adeleke, Alleges Governor Is Spreading False Claims Ahead of Election

By SUNTV Global Channel | August 4, 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council in Osun State has strongly criticised Governor Ademola Adeleke over comments it said he made regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a campaign event ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

In a statement issued by the Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, the party described the governor’s remarks as “reckless, inflammatory and a sign of desperation” as political campaigns intensify across the state.

The APC further alleged that Governor Adeleke claimed President Tinubu was withholding federal allocations meant for Osun State’s 30 local government areas. The party rejected the allegation, insisting that statutory allocations are being released to the legally recognised local government administration and described the governor’s claims as false and misleading.

The campaign council also accused the governor of attempting to politicise the issue in order to influence public opinion ahead of the election.

In addition, the APC levelled several allegations against the Adeleke administration, including claims of financial mismanagement and poor governance. The party called for accountability in the management of public funds and expressed confidence that its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, would emerge victorious at the polls.

Governor Adeleke has not publicly responded to the APC’s latest statement at the time of filing this report.

As political campaigns continue ahead of the August 15 governorship election, voters are expected to assess the positions of all parties before casting their ballots.

SUNTV Global Channel will continue to monitor the developments and provide updates as more reactions emerge.
