The United Arab Emirates has activated its air defence systems after intercepting multiple Iranian missiles, cruise missiles, and drones in what officials describe as a coordinated aerial assault amid rising regional tensions.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, the interceptions took place across different parts of the country on Monday, as the military worked to neutralize incoming threats targeting both civilian and critical infrastructure.
Authorities confirmed that air defence units successfully engaged and intercepted several ballistic and cruise missiles as well as drones, preventing potential large-scale damage.
In the emirate of Fujairah, officials reported that an Iranian drone strike triggered a fire at an oil facility. Emergency response teams were quickly deployed to contain the blaze, with local authorities confirming that no casualties had been recorded at the time of the incident.
