The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on the Federal Government to issue a 90-day ultimatum to Nigeria’s security chiefs to eliminate terrorists across the country or resign from their positions.
Adeboye made the call in a video shared on his official X account, expressing concern over the persistent wave of terrorism, banditry, kidnappings, and violent attacks affecting communities nationwide.
“If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say quietly to our government, ‘Move fast and tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign,’” the cleric stated.
He further urged the government to target not only the terrorists but also those funding and supporting their operations, regardless of their status or influence.
“When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, we should make it clear to them that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists; they should eliminate their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be,” Adeboye added.
The respected religious leader’s comments come amid renewed public concern over insecurity in several parts of Nigeria, including recent cases of kidnappings, attacks on communities, and the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers by armed groups.
Security remains one of the major challenges facing the country, with many Nigerians calling for stronger and more decisive measures to restore peace and protect lives and property.
