At least 17 residents have been abducted in a fresh series of coordinated bandit attacks on communities in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, raising renewed concerns over the worsening security situation in Southern Kaduna.

According to information gathered by SUNTV Global Channel, the attacks occurred between Saturday and the early hours of Monday, with armed assailants targeting several communities, including Hanya Maro, Ungwan Busa, and Banono Angwaku.

The latest incident was reported in Hanya Maro, where gunmen invaded farmlands early Monday morning and abducted six farmers while they were working. The condition of other victims in the area could not be independently confirmed at the time of filing this report.

In a separate attack on Ungwan Busa, three residents were kidnapped, while one person sustained injuries during the assault.

Another eight people were reportedly abducted in Banono Angwaku, bringing the total number of victims across the affected communities to 17.

The renewed attacks have intensified fears among residents, many of whom say they continue to live under the constant threat of armed bandits. Community members are urging security agencies to strengthen surveillance, improve rapid response, and protect vulnerable rural settlements from recurring attacks.

As of the time of this report, security authorities had not issued an official statement regarding the incidents.

The latest violence comes just weeks after six kidnapped residents from Kutaho Village in neighbouring Kagarko Local Government Area were reportedly killed by bandits despite the payment of ransom, highlighting the persistent insecurity affecting parts of Kaduna State.

Local leaders have renewed calls on the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue kidnapped victims, dismantle criminal hideouts, and bring those responsible for the attacks to justice.
