Pastor Isah Lazarus Alkali has called on Christians to embrace covenant giving as a key to experiencing God’s financial blessings, emphasizing that giving should be done willingly, cheerfully, and from the heart rather than out of obligation.
Ministering during a Sunday service at Living Faith Church (LFC), Azugwu, Ebonyi State, Pastor Alkali preached on the theme “Financial Fortune Is My Heritage,” taking his main text from 2 Corinthians 9:6–8.
Speaking to the congregation, he said there are different levels of giving according to each believer’s faith and understanding of God’s Word. He challenged worshippers with the question, “Are you a giver?”
The cleric stressed that believers should not give because they think the church or God is in need, but because they love God and desire to obey His Word. According to him, God can never lack anything, and true giving should flow from a willing heart.
Reading from 2 Corinthians 9:8, he explained that God is able to make all grace abound toward His people because He has more than enough to supply every need. He also cited John 3:16, saying God demonstrated the greatest example of giving by offering His only Son for the salvation of humanity.
Pastor Alkali further stated that believers must first play their part through obedience before expecting God to fulfill His promises. Referring to Luke 7:2–5, he encouraged Christians to support the advancement of God’s Kingdom through generous giving and faithful service.
He reminded the congregation that God judges every action, whether done publicly or privately, adding that a covenant is more than a promise—it is a divine agreement that requires commitment and faithful obedience.
Concluding his message, Pastor Alkali urged Christians to continually remember God in all they do and faithfully obey His instructions. He maintained that obedience to God’s principles opens the door to lasting financial blessings and challenged believers to remain committed to advancing God’s Kingdom through their giving.
