TEHRAN/WASHINGTON — Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have launched a large-scale retaliatory military operation targeting a United States military base in Jordan and 21 other strategic locations across the Gulf region following recent American airstrikes ordered by U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to Iranian state media, the attacks targeted U.S.-linked facilities in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain, marking one of the most serious confrontations between Tehran and Washington since both nations agreed to a ceasefire earlier this year.
The latest escalation follows American military operations near the Strait of Hormuz, where U.S. forces reportedly struck Iranian air defense systems, surveillance radar installations, and military control stations.
