Bandits Torture Abducted Corps Member on Camera as Victim Begs Nigerians for Rescue

SUNTV GLOBAL CHANNEL REPORT

A disturbing video has surfaced showing a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) being brutally tortured by suspected terrorists, sparking outrage and fresh concerns over insecurity across Nigeria.

In the shocking footage obtained by SUNTV Global Channel, the young corps member—speaking in Hausa—was seen lying helplessly on the ground while armed bandits repeatedly flogged, punched, and kicked him despite his desperate pleas for mercy.

Witnessed in the video, the attackers surrounded the visibly weak victim, striking him mercilessly with long sticks while mocking his cries. At several points, the corps member begged Nigerians to intervene, saying his life was slipping away due to the relentless assault.

“Please help me for God’s sake… please save my life. I may soon die in this situation,” he cried in agony.

Rather than showing sympathy, the captors intensified the torture. Two of the bandits were seen beating him continuously, while others stomped on his chest and violently threw him to the ground.

In a chilling moment, one of the attackers boasted that they were treating the corps member the same way they claimed security forces treat suspects. The violence escalated further as the victim struggled to breathe and appeared to lose strength.

At one point, when the corps member weakly said he had died, one of the bandits laughed and kicked him in the head, mocking his condition.

The footage shows the victim in extreme distress—barely able to move—while the attackers continued the assault without restraint.

This incident highlights the worsening insecurity crisis in parts of northern Nigeria, where bandit groups have increasingly targeted students, travelers, and youth corps members for abduction and ransom.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the incident, nor confirmed the identity or current condition of the abducted corps member.
