President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to actively support security agencies by providing timely information on terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal elements threatening the nation’s peace and stability.

The President made the appeal in a statement issued on Monday, June 8, 2026, while commending members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies for their sacrifices in the fight against insecurity across the country.

Tinubu praised military personnel and security operatives for their courage and dedication, describing them as the nation’s shield against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes.

According to the President, security personnel continue to operate under difficult and dangerous conditions across forests, highways, waterways, and remote communities to protect millions of Nigerians.

He acknowledged the sacrifices made by soldiers, police officers, intelligence operatives, and members of local security formations, noting that their commitment has helped preserve lives and maintain national security.

The President also paid tribute to security personnel who lost their lives while defending the country, describing them as heroes whose sacrifices would never be forgotten.

Tinubu further recognised the role played by the families of security officers, many of whom endure long periods of separation and uncertainty while their loved ones serve on the front lines.

Emphasising that security is a collective responsibility, the President urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting suspicious activities and sharing credible intelligence that could help prevent attacks.

He stressed that the fight against terrorism and violent crime cannot be left solely to security agencies, adding that public participation remains crucial to achieving lasting peace.

The President assured Nigerians that the government remains committed to defeating criminal groups and restoring security across the country.

He declared that terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, and violent extremists would not be allowed to define Nigeria’s future or undermine the nation’s unity and progress.

Tinubu concluded by expressing gratitude to all frontline security personnel for their service and sacrifice, while praying for their safety as they continue to defend the nation.

SUNTV Global Channel will continue to monitor developments in Nigeria’s security sector and provide updates as they emerge.
