The Federal Government of Nigeria has issued an urgent security advisory to its citizens living in Kuwait and Bahrain, as tensions continue to rise across parts of the Middle East.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Nigerian Embassy in Kuwait — which also oversees diplomatic affairs for Bahrain — called on Nigerians in both countries to remain calm, vigilant, and strictly follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.
According to the circular, the warning comes in response to the “prevailing circumstances in the region,” prompting officials to step up monitoring efforts and direct engagement with Nigerian communities abroad.
The embassy advised citizens to rely only on verified information from official government channels in their host countries and to stay updated through credible local news sources.
It noted that it is maintaining close communication with leaders of Nigerian community associations to ensure quick dissemination of information and coordinated responses should the situation escalate.
As part of emergency preparedness measures, the mission announced the launch of a dedicated mobile and WhatsApp hotline to improve rapid communication with affected nationals.
Nigerians requiring assistance were asked to contact the embassy via email at nigeriakuwait@yahoo.com or through the emergency line +965 9923 8835, which is available for calls and WhatsApp messages.
The embassy also encouraged citizens to join its official support WhatsApp group to receive real-time updates and guidance.
Officials reiterated that the Nigerian government remains committed to safeguarding its nationals abroad and is closely monitoring developments across the region.
