A United States Congressman, Riley Moore, has described the recent U.S. military airstrikes in north-west Nigeria as a critical first step toward ending persistent killings and restoring security in parts of the country affected by extremist violence.
Speaking after the strikes, Moore said the action sends a strong message to terrorist groups operating in Nigeria that attacks on civilians — particularly vulnerable Christian communities — will no longer be ignored by the international community.

What Happened
