The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has declared that any potential agreement with Iran would only be possible if the country first agrees to what he described as “unconditional surrender.”
Trump made the statement on Friday through a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, outlining his position on the future of Iran and the conditions for possible engagement with the United States and its allies.
“There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” Trump wrote.
He further stated that after such surrender, the United States and its allies would support the selection of what he called a “great and acceptable leader” to guide the country forward.
According to Trump, the United States and its partners would then work to rebuild Iran’s economy and stabilize the nation after years of tension and conflict.
“After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before,” Trump wrote, adding the slogan “Make Iran Great Again (MIGA!).”
The statement comes amid escalating tensions between Israel, the United States, and Iran following a series of major military operations across Iranian territory.
Earlier on Friday, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed that nearly 50 Israeli fighter jets carried out a large-scale airstrike targeting an underground bunker believed to have been constructed to protect Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, during wartime.
The bunker, located beneath a leadership compound in Tehran, was reportedly struck during the operation as part of intensifying military actions against Iranian strategic facilities.
The Israeli military shared footage of the operation on its official X account, stating that the strike dismantled the underground facility used by Iran’s leadership.
As of the time of this report, authorities have not confirmed whether Khamenei was present at the location during the attack or provided details on possible casualties.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials say the ongoing bombardments by U.S. and Israeli forces have resulted in significant destruction across the country. The Iranian Red Crescent Society reported that at least 555 people have been killed in recent strikes affecting more than 131 cities nationwide.
The attacks are being described by Iranian authorities as one of the most extensive military assaults on the country in recent years.
