United States President Donald Trump has deleted a controversial AI-generated image portraying himself in a “Jesus-like” pose, after intense backlash from religious supporters, political critics, and online users who described the post as offensive and blasphemous.
The image, originally shared on his Truth Social account, showed Trump placing a hand on a hospital patient in a scene styled to resemble divine healing, accompanied by symbolic national imagery including the American flag, the Statue of Liberty, and bald eagles.
The post came shortly after Trump issued a series of critical remarks against Pope Leo XIV, whom he had previously described in harsh political terms, escalating tensions between the former president and religious communities.
The controversial image immediately triggered outrage across social media, with many of his own supporters condemning it as inappropriate and disrespectful to Christian beliefs.
