Pastor Isah Lazarus Alkali has called on Christians to redefine their understanding of prosperity, emphasizing that true prosperity is not measured by financial wealth alone but by spiritual growth and fruitfulness in every area of life.
Delivering a message titled “Gateways to Financial Fortune (Part 4B)” at Living Faith Church (LFC), Azugwu, Ebonyi State, Pastor Alkali based his teaching on Luke 12:15, where he explained that while many people equate prosperity with money and material possessions, the Bible presents a broader picture of prosperity that encompasses spiritual, physical, and financial well-being.
He stressed that although material wealth is important, spiritual prosperity must remain the foremost pursuit of every believer, noting that the Scriptures are filled with God’s promises concerning the prosperity of His people.
Speaking from 3 John 1:2, Pastor Alkali said God’s desire is for His children to prosper and remain in good health as their souls prosper. According to him, financial blessings are given not only to meet personal needs but also to empower believers to positively impact the lives of others.
He further stated that Christianity is not a religion of poverty. Quoting 2 Corinthians 8:9, he reminded the congregation that through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, believers have been empowered to walk in divine prosperity.
Pastor Alkali also emphasized that God shows no favoritism between the rich and the poor, adding that every divine provision comes with corresponding responsibilities. Citing Deuteronomy 8:18, he urged Christians never to forget that it is God who gives the power to create wealth.
Referring to Job 36:11, he explained that God is willing to bless His people abundantly, but such blessings are reserved for those who faithfully serve and obey Him.
Concluding the message, Pastor Alkali prayed for members of Living Faith Church, Azugwu, declaring God’s blessings upon the congregation. He also encouraged believers to seek God’s guidance in every decision, emphasizing that obedience to God’s voice remains the foundation for lasting prosperity and a fulfilled life.
