SUNTV EXCLUSIVE: Outrage In Kebbi As APC Accused Of Converting Public ICT Centre Into Party Secretariat

February 14, 2026 — SUNTV Global Channel

A fresh political controversy has erupted in Kebbi State following allegations that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) converted a government-built Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre into a party secretariat.

A development expert, Mallam Jabir, raised the alarm, claiming the facility—originally established to train youths in digital skills and boost innovation—has been repurposed for partisan political activities.

According to him, the alleged move undermines the centre’s core objective of empowering young people through technology and improving digital literacy across Kebbi State.

In a statement posted on social media, Jabir described the development as “reckless, disgraceful, and highly irresponsible,” accusing the APC of prioritising political convenience over youth development.

He further alleged that the party had effectively “sacrificed the future of young people for partisan interests,” sparking public criticism and raising concerns about the management of public infrastructure in the state.

The ICT Centre was originally designed to serve as a hub for digital training, innovation, and entrepreneurship, particularly targeting unemployed youths seeking technological skills.

Meanwhile, the controversy comes as Bola Tinubu is expected to embark on a one-day official visit to the state, where he will inaugurate projects executed by the administration of Governor Nasir Idris.

The visit was confirmed by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, who stated that the President would also attend a major cultural event in the state.

The situation is unfolding amid growing security concerns across parts of Nigeria’s North-West, with residents increasingly calling for stronger government action to protect lives and public assets.

SUNTV Global Channel will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as reactions trail the allegations.
