The Imole Campaign Council (TICC), the campaign organisation of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is lobbying influential individuals and institutions in an attempt to influence the outcome of the August 15, 2026, governorship election.
The allegation was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the council’s spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, in response to the APC’s planned local government campaign tour across the state.
According to the statement, the APC has allegedly failed to convince the electorate through its political campaign and is now seeking support from powerful figures outside the state. The council further claimed that the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, made unsuccessful efforts to secure political backing from top government officials in Abuja.
The Adeleke campaign maintained that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration has delivered significant improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social development, arguing that these achievements have strengthened public confidence in the current administration.
The council also alleged that the APC hurriedly introduced its local government campaign schedule following criticism over its limited grassroots mobilisation, insisting that the people of Osun State remain committed to continuity in governance.
Reaffirming its commitment to peaceful and issue-based campaigns, the Imole Campaign Council urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding throughout the election period. It stressed that the will of the electorate must be respected and that political power should only be determined through a free, fair, and credible electoral process.
The council also expressed concern over the possibility of election-related violence and called on security agencies to ensure the safety of voters, political stakeholders, and election officials before, during, and after the poll.
As of the time of filing this report, the All Progressives Congress (APC) had not officially responded to the latest allegations. The party has, however, consistently denied previous claims suggesting any intention to manipulate or disrupt the forthcoming governorship election.
