The has broken its silence over the controversial arrest of social media activist and blogger, Justice Mark Chidiebere, widely known as Justice Crack, stating that his detention followed allegations of inciting military personnel and attempting to undermine the armed forces.
In an official statement released on Saturday and signed by Colonel , the Army confirmed that Chidiebere was “picked up” alongside some soldiers after a preliminary investigation into viral social media discussions about troop welfare.
According to the military, the activist’s engagement with soldiers went beyond whistleblowing, alleging that he was actively encouraging discontent within the ranks. The statement claimed that some of his communications with personnel bordered on “subversion,” raising concerns about discipline and national security.
However, the Army did not disclose the exact date or circumstances of his arrest.
