The Kano Hisbah Corps has arrested and secured convictions for 21 individuals, including three Christians, following a raid on Stephrica Guest Palace Ltd. over alleged “immoral activities.”

The operation, led by Chief Superintendent Hafizu Garba Adakawa, targeted complaints from residents of the Kureken Sani area in Kumbotso Local Government. Suspects ranged in age from 15 to 35, including 10 men and 11 women. The hotel’s manager, Chijioke Nweke, staff, and owner Asuzu Jeffrey were also arrested, with investigations revealing the facility operated without official approval.

All suspects were arraigned before Magistrate Court No. 5 in Gyadi-Gyadi. The hotel owner, manager, and staff received one-year prison sentences or the option of a N100,000 fine, while the property was sealed. Fourteen others were sentenced to three months imprisonment or a N30,000 fine each.

The Hisbah Board emphasized that the convictions reflect its commitment to enforcing moral standards in Kano State and urged parents to properly guide and monitor their children.
