Documents submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by Senator Chukwu Kelvin Chizoba have reportedly raised questions over inconsistencies in his declared age, educational history and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) records.
The senator, who represents Enugu East Senatorial District, reportedly submitted the documents as part of his re-election process for the 2027 general elections.
According to the documents reviewed, Senator Chizoba declared under oath that he was born on January 10, 1972.
However, the same records reportedly show that he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1977, a timeline that would suggest he completed primary school at the age of five.
The documents also reportedly contain discrepancies involving his university education and NYSC history.
The senator listed his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree as being obtained on June 22, 2021, while his attached NYSC certificate indicates that he completed the compulsory one-year national service between June 9, 1997 and June 8, 1998.
The reported dates have raised questions about the sequence of his academic qualifications, as the NYSC record appears to predate the stated law degree by more than two decades.
SUNTV Global Channel understands that clarification was sought from Senator Chizoba regarding the apparent inconsistencies in his submitted records.
As of the time of this report, the senator had not publicly responded to the questions raised.
The development comes amid growing public scrutiny of the accuracy of information contained in official documents submitted by public office holders.
