INEC Begins Live Upload Of FCT Council Poll Results As Counting Progresses

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the upload of chairmanship election results from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council polls to its Result Viewing (IReV) portal, as vote collation continues across the territory.

SUNTV Global Channel gathered that as of about 7:35pm on Saturday, results from several polling units had already appeared on the portal, indicating steady progress in the electoral process.

In the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), 847 results were uploaded out of a total of 1,401 polling units.

Kwali Area Council recorded 75 uploaded results from its 201 polling units, while Kuje Area Council had 115 results reflected out of 262.

Similarly, Gwagwalada Area Council showed 204 uploaded results from 338 polling units, while Bwari Area Council had 255 results available out of 485. In Abaji Area Council, 42 results had been uploaded from 135 polling units as of the same time.

The elections, held on Saturday, featured contests for six Area Council chairmanship seats and 62 councillorship positions across a total of 2,822 polling units, with more than 1.6 million registered voters expected to participate.

Voting concluded in most locations earlier in the day, paving the way for sorting, counting, and the ongoing electronic transmission of results to the IReV portal.

INEC officials say the upload process will continue until all polling unit results across the FCT are fully reflected on the platform.
