Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has made a rare and candid public confession about his personal life, drawing loud reactions from fans in Benin City.
The music icon made the disclosure during the MC EdoPikin Undiluted with StarBoy and Legends show, shortly before stepping on stage to perform. Addressing the audience, 2Baba said he felt compelled to “set the record straight” over long-standing public narratives about his relationships and family life.
In a moment that mixed humour with sincerity, the award-winning artist declared that he had put an end to impregnating women indiscriminately.
“But see, I get confession. I dey make this confession everywhere I go now to set the record straight. I don stop to dey do that kind of thing. I don stop to dey give belle anyhow. I swear, ask anybody now, they will tell you say I be innocent,” he said, sparking laughter and applause from the crowd.
2Baba’s statement comes against the backdrop of years of public scrutiny surrounding his private life. The singer is widely known to have children with multiple women outside his marriage, a reality that has often kept him in the headlines beyond his music career.
His first baby mama, Sumbo Adeoye, shares two sons — Zion and Nino — with the singer. Their relationship ended around 2009 after reports emerged of his involvement with other women. Another former partner, Pero Adeniyi, also has three children with the music legend, born between 2006 and 2012.
Despite the controversies, 2Baba remains one of Africa’s most respected and influential musicians, celebrated for his contributions to Nigerian music and his continued relevance across generations.
