Ondo State, February 25, 2026 – SUNTV Global Channel
In a chilling escalation of violence in Ondo State, suspected terrorists stormed a Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) in Uso community, Owo Local Government Area, on Wednesday morning, abducting six worshippers during an early-morning service.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as the gunmen, armed and coordinated, invaded the church along the Benin–Owo Expressway, quickly whisking the victims away to an unknown location.
Emmanuel, an eyewitness who shared videos and photos of the aftermath on social media platform X, condemned the attack, writing:
“Live from Uso this morning, kidnappers abducted six people at Celestial Church along Benin–Owo Expressway. The government shouldn’t be trading our lives with kidnappers.”
This latest abduction comes just four days after a couple was kidnapped in Ilu-Abo community, Akure North Local Government Area, highlighting a worrying pattern of insecurity across Ondo State.
Residents have expressed growing fears as repeated attacks by armed groups continue to terrorize communities. Many have criticized authorities for failing to curb the rising wave of kidnappings and violent assaults.
The incident adds to a series of security breaches this year, including a January 1 attack in Ipele community, Owo LGA, where suspected terrorists burned down a police station and several vehicles, forcing residents to flee their homes.
As of press time, Ondo State authorities had not released an official statement regarding Wednesday’s abduction, and it remains unclear whether security forces have launched rescue operations for the victims.
