BREAKING:“Don’t Abandon Christianity or You’ll Lose Favour” — Akume’s Wife Speaks Amid SGF’s New Marriage to Queen Zaynab

The wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, Mrs. Regina Akume, has issued a strong public admonition to her husband, urging him to remain steadfast in Christianity, which she described as the foundation of his success and political rise.

Mrs. Akume made the remarks during the wedding reception of the SGF’s son, held on Sunday in Makurdi, Benue State. A video of her speech, later shared by Idoma Television, has since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread reactions.

In the video, Mrs. Akume offered prayers for her husband’s long life and good health but cautioned him against abandoning the Christian faith.

“I pray that the Lord will increase his years, grant him good health of mind and body, and give him clarity in thinking and doing the right things,” she said.
“He should remember that he is a Christian, and it is Christianity that brought him this far. To drop Christianity now and go for anything else, he will not be successful.”

She further advised the SGF to “return fully to Christianity and follow the line of Christ,” insisting that his journey to national prominence was achieved through faith and not by human opposition.

“We came all the way to the office of the SGF not through enemies, but through Jesus Christ. And Jesus Christ is still alive and still working for us,” she added.

Her comments come amid intense public discussions following reports that Senator Akume recently married an additional wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh.

Earlier, SaharaReporters reported that the Akume Dajoh family formally announced the marriage in a Facebook post shared by Abraham Dajoh. The family described Queen Zaynab as an “uncommon wife” and warmly welcomed her into the Dajoh family.

“We happily join our daddy, uncle and brother, His Excellency, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume Jugu Dajoh, in welcoming his new and uncommon wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh,” the statement read.

The family also welcomed her to Benue State, Mbakor—the traditional seat of Tiv leadership—and the Dajoh family, describing it as “the home of your darling husband.”

Photos circulating online showed members of the Dajoh family posing with Queen Zaynab, further confirming the union.

Queen Zaynab was previously married to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. Their traditional marriage took place on March 12, 2016, in Benin City, Edo State, followed by a reception at the Royal Court of Ife in Osun State. She was subsequently known as Olori Wuraola.

However, the marriage ended in 2017, with Queen Zaynab confirming the separation via her Instagram page on August 30 of that year. The union lasted about 17 months.
