U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that his administration has recorded the highest average daily immigration arrests and deportations in American history, while blaming the U.S. court system for slowing down the removal of undocumented immigrants.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said no previous administration had matched his government’s immigration enforcement record, insisting that his administration leads in arrests, detentions and deportations carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
According to the president, pending court cases have delayed the execution of final deportation orders, preventing even higher removal figures.
Trump also claimed that his administration has removed more undocumented immigrants over a 12-month period than any previous U.S. president, adding that no other administration comes close in the number of migrants apprehended and repatriated.
The president further criticised political opponents and some television commentators for comparing his immigration record with that of former President Barack Obama, arguing that such comparisons are inaccurate.
Since returning to office, Trump has made immigration enforcement a central focus of his administration, implementing stricter border security measures, expanding immigration operations and increasing deportation efforts across the United States.
Supporters argue the policies are necessary to strengthen national security and enforce immigration laws, while critics say the measures have created fear within immigrant communities and sparked numerous legal challenges in U.S. courts.
