The Nigerian Army has successfully rescued four kidnapped victims during a major security operation targeting notorious bandit kingpin, Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani, and members of his criminal gang in Katsina State.

The Katsina State Government confirmed the development, revealing that the victims were freed during intensified military offensives carried out in suspected bandit hideouts across the state.

The rescued victims have been identified as Musa Yakuba (62), Alhaji Sa’adu Dayi (68), Mukhtar Danja (36), and Salisu Danja (50). According to authorities, the victims sustained gunshot injuries while in captivity and are currently receiving medical treatment.

Security officials disclosed that the rescue mission forms part of an ongoing operation aimed at dismantling the criminal network led by Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani, one of the most wanted bandit commanders operating in northwestern Nigeria.

The latest breakthrough comes just weeks after security forces secured the release of the wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar, who was also abducted by armed criminals.

Commending the bravery and professionalism of the troops involved, the Katsina State Government praised the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their relentless efforts in combating banditry, kidnapping, and violent crimes across the state.

Authorities further assured residents that the search for Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and his gang remains active, stressing that security operations will continue until all criminal elements threatening peace and security in the region are brought to justice.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s administration reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property while working closely with security agencies to eliminate criminal hideouts and restore lasting peace across Katsina State.

As concerns continue to grow over rising cases of kidnapping and violent attacks in parts of northwestern Nigeria, security forces have intensified offensives against armed groups operating in forests and remote communities.
