Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply after dozens of United States military cargo aircraft loaded with ammunition reportedly arrived in Israel within the last 24 hours, raising fears of a possible new confrontation between Israel and Iran.
According to reports monitored by SUNTV Global Channel, the ammunition flights departed from American military bases in Germany and landed in Tel Aviv amid growing regional instability surrounding Iran’s nuclear programme and rising military threats across the Gulf region.
Israeli broadcaster Channel 13, cited by international media including , reported that the shipments are part of Israel’s preparation for what officials described as a potential renewed conflict with Tehran.
The development comes at the same time Iran unveiled a controversial new maritime control plan for the strategic Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes.
Iranian lawmaker , who heads Iran’s parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy, revealed that Tehran has finalised plans for a new regulated maritime passage system that would require vessels to pay fees before crossing the narrow waterway.
According to Iranian authorities, only countries and commercial vessels considered cooperative with Tehran would benefit from the arrangement, while Iran would charge what it described as “specialised service fees” for passage through the Strait.
The announcement has triggered fresh fears across global energy markets, with analysts warning that any disruption in the Strait of Hormuz could affect crude oil exports, petroleum products, industrial equipment and international shipping activities worldwide.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the busiest and most sensitive maritime corridors on earth, connecting Gulf oil producers to major markets in Asia, Europe and Africa.
Security experts say the latest US military supply operation to Israel, combined with Iran’s maritime restrictions, could further increase geopolitical tensions and place additional pressure on already fragile global supply chains.
Meanwhile, diplomatic disagreements between Washington and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear programme continue to deepen.
Reports monitored by SUNTV Global Channel revealed that the United States had previously proposed a 20-year suspension of Iran’s uranium enrichment activities during negotiations. However, Iranian authorities reportedly rejected the proposal, insisting such a lengthy suspension was unacceptable.
While Tehran reportedly showed limited openness to international inspections and possible uranium stockpile adjustments, Iranian officials maintained firm conditions, including refusing to dismantle nuclear facilities or surrender enriched uranium reserves.
