Gunmen suspected to be terrorists have abducted Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal, the Parish Priest of St. Stephen Parish, Kushe Gugbu, in Kaduna State’s Kagarko Local Government Area.
The attack, which occurred on Monday, November 17, 2025, also resulted in the killing of a brother to another priest, Rev. Fr. Anthony Yero. Several other individuals were kidnapped during the incident, deepening concerns over persistent insecurity in rural communities across the state.
In a statement, the Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna confirmed the abduction and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life. Church authorities called on the faithful and the general public to pray for the safe release of the abducted victims and for the peaceful repose of the deceased.
The Archdiocese further urged security agencies to intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators and ensure the swift rescue of the captives, describing the attack as a painful reminder of the growing threats facing clergy and residents in the region.
