At least two Ghanaians were among several people injured when two drones crashed near Dubai International Airport (DXB) on Wednesday, SUNTV Global Channel reports.
According to Dubai Media House, “two individuals of Ghanaian nationality and one Bangladeshi sustained minor injuries, while one person of Indian nationality suffered moderate injuries.” Emergency responders were quick to provide medical attention at the scene, ensuring the situation remained under control.
Airport authorities have assured the public that air traffic was not affected, emphasizing that flights continued to operate normally. Officials also highlighted the safety measures in place to protect passengers and staff.
The incident comes amid heightened security tensions in the Gulf, following the ongoing military confrontation between the United States, Israel, and Iran. The conflict escalated dramatically in February 2026 when joint US‑Israeli airstrikes killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with other senior officials. Iran has since appointed Mojtaba Khamenei as the new supreme leader.
Civilian casualties in Iran have been significant, with government reports citing over 1,200 deaths, including 193 children, in attacks that targeted infrastructure and schools.
