Former U.S. President has renewed his call for the construction of a new high-security ballroom within the White House complex, using the recent security incident at a major political event as justification for the controversial proposal.

The renewed debate follows a tense security incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner held at the , where gunfire forced an emergency evacuation. The suspect, later identified as , was arrested after reportedly breaching security with multiple weapons.
