At least seven residents have been killed and several others injured following a fresh attack by armed terrorists on Kawari community in Kauran Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The attack, which occurred on Friday night, also saw the assailants rustle a large number of livestock, according to security alerts and local sources.
A security monitoring platform, Bakatsine, confirmed the incident on Saturday, stating that three additional persons sustained injuries during the raid.
The group condemned the repeated assaults on rural communities, questioning the lack of decisive and lasting security action in the region.
“How long will Zamfara communities continue to endure repeated cycles of mass killings and raids without effective security intervention?” the platform asked.
Zamfara State remains one of the worst-hit areas by banditry in northwestern Nigeria, with recurring incidents of killings, kidnappings, and cattle rustling despite ongoing military operations.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the latest attack at the time of filing this report.
