A heartbreaking incident has occurred in , where a woman identified as Oluwasola Victoria Adebayo reportedly slumped and died while waiting for her child writing the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The tragic event took place on Monday at Ilara-Mokin Junction in Ifedore Local Government Area, where the deceased had accompanied her child to the examination centre.
Eyewitnesses said the woman suddenly complained of weakness shortly after arriving at the venue before collapsing. Efforts by people at the scene to revive her were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead on the spot.
Sources revealed that her child was inside the examination hall at the time and remained unaware of the devastating development.
A resident, who identified the deceased as “Mummy Ayo,” said she had earlier spoken about escorting her daughter to the exam centre that morning, making the incident even more painful for those who knew her.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, , stated that the family has been contacted and the remains released to her son after proper identification.
The shocking incident drew a large crowd, with many expressing grief and concern over the sudden loss.
