Tehran Rocked As Netanyahu Makes Explosive Claim
Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has claimed that there are strong indications Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, may have been killed following a coordinated wave of United States–Israeli military strikes.
In a televised national address on Saturday, Netanyahu said a powerful surprise attack destroyed what he described as Khamenei’s central compound in Tehran.
“This morning, in a powerful surprise strike, the compound of the tyrant Ali Khamenei was destroyed… and there are many signs that this tyrant is no longer alive,” Netanyahu stated.
Iranian authorities have not confirmed the claim, leaving uncertainty over the fate of the country’s highest leader.
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed American involvement, announcing that the United States had launched large-scale combat operations targeting Iran’s military infrastructure.
In a video message, Trump said the mission aims to destroy Iran’s missile systems and naval capabilities, vowing that key defense industries would be “totally obliterated.”
The escalation comes amid outrage over a deadly airstrike on an all-girls primary school in Minab, southern Iran.
Iranian officials said at least 85 people — mostly schoolgirls — were killed when the Shajareye Tayabeh Elementary School was hit during class hours. At least 63 others were reportedly injured, while rescue teams continue searching through rubble.
Iran condemned the attack as a deliberate strike on civilians and vowed accountability.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, has warned that the escalating conflict could trigger a broader regional war with severe humanitarian and global security consequences.
Minab, located near the strategic Strait of Hormuz, is among several Iranian locations targeted in the ongoing wave of air raids and missile attacks.
With no official confirmation from Tehran about Khamenei’s status, uncertainty continues to deepen fears of a major Middle East conflict as world leaders call for restraint and urgent diplomatic intervention.
