Azugwu — The Christmas morning service at Living Faith Church Azugwu (LFC) was marked by deep spiritual insights as Pastor Isah Lazarus delivered a thought-provoking message centered on understanding, salvation, and the true purpose of Christ’s coming.
Speaking from Colossians 1:27, Pastor Isah emphasized that understanding is the key to living an outstanding and impactful life. He explained that many people struggle in life not because of lack of effort, but because of lack of understanding.
Referencing Ephesians 1:18, he taught that the eyes of understanding must be enlightened for believers to see beyond limitations. According to him, what a person does not know can never be fully understood, stressing that divine instructions are what deliver humanity from destruction.
He urged Christians to continually pray for spiritual illumination, reading from Psalms 119:18 and Joshua 1:8, where the Scriptures encourage believers to seek God’s wisdom through His Word for success and direction.
Why Did Jesus Come?
While ministering, Pastor Isah posed a critical question to the congregation: Why did Jesus come? He answered by affirming that the primary purpose of Christ’s coming was to save the world, citing Matthew 1:21. He added that salvation brings divine blessings, as written in Psalms 3:8.
He further explained that Jesus came to restore joy to humanity, referencing Luke 2:10, which describes the birth of Christ as good news of great joy to all people. He also noted that Jesus came to bring peace, describing peace as a divine covenant, supported by Numbers 25:12.
Restoration of the Supernatural
According to Pastor Isah Lazarus, Jesus also came to restore the supernatural nature of mankind, reconnecting humanity to God’s original design. During this moment, he pronounced prayers and blessings over the congregation, declaring the restoration of joy, peace, and divine favor.
He emphasized the importance of faith in the name of Jesus, noting that miracles and transformation only work when believers truly believe in Him.
Christ in Us
Concluding the message, Pastor Isah reminded worshippers that at new birth, Christ lives in believers, urging them to reflect Christ in their daily lives, especially during the celebration of His birth. Reading from Isaiah 9:6, he encouraged total surrender to God as the pathway to receiving His fullness.
The Christmas service ended with prayers, thanksgiving, and a renewed call for believers to live out the true meaning of Christmas—not just as a celebration, but as a lifestyle of Christ-centered living.
