The United States Consulate General Dhahran has issued an urgent security alert warning of an imminent missile and drone attack threat over Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, as regional tensions continue to escalate.
In a statement released Tuesday, the consulate directed all American citizens in the area to immediately seek shelter and strictly avoid approaching the diplomatic facility. The mission confirmed that its personnel have already begun sheltering in place as a precautionary measure.
“There is a threat of imminent missile and UAV attacks over Dhahran. Do not come to the U.S. Consulate. Take cover immediately in your residence on the lowest available floor and away from windows. Do not go outside,” the statement read.
The emergency advisory emphasized that individuals indoors should move to the lowest level of their buildings, preferably to rooms with the fewest exterior walls, windows, or openings. Those caught outdoors were instructed to seek immediate refuge inside reinforced structures. If no shelter is available, they are advised to lie flat on the ground and cover their heads with their hands to reduce exposure to flying debris.
Officials also warned that even if incoming missiles or drones are intercepted, falling debris could pose serious risks to life and property.
“After any attack, remain clear of debris and continue to monitor major news outlets and official channels for further instructions,” the advisory stated.
The alert comes amid heightened security concerns across parts of the Middle East, with diplomatic missions reviewing emergency protocols and urging citizens to remain vigilant.
