United States President Donald Trump has declared that the U.S. is “winning big” in Iran while accusing the Chinese government of carrying out what he described as the largest election-related cyber breach in American history.

Speaking during a primetime address on Thursday, Trump said the United States is beginning to see the results of major investments made in its military, claiming the country now possesses the strongest armed forces in the world.

“We are likewise winning big in Iran. You will see the fruit of that labour very, very shortly,” Trump said, without providing further details about ongoing U.S. operations.

Trump also claimed that the People’s Republic of China illegally obtained approximately 220 million U.S. voter files over several years, beginning during the 2020 election cycle. He alleged that the breach was concealed by what he called “deep state actors” within the U.S. government.

According to the president, his administration has released declassified documents highlighting vulnerabilities in America’s election security system. He further alleged that nearly 280,000 non-citizens are registered to vote in the United States and argued that mail-in voting remains susceptible to fraud.

Trump urged Congress to pass the Save America Act, a proposed bill that would require voters to present government-issued photo identification and proof of U.S. citizenship before casting ballots.

However, U.S. election authorities, including the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), have consistently stated that they found no evidence of foreign interference that altered the outcomes of the 2020 or 2024 presidential elections. Independent investigations and election experts have also maintained that documented cases of non-citizen voting and mail-in ballot fraud are rare and insufficient to affect election results.

The proposed Save America Act has not yet secured enough support in Congress to become law.
