Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested three women suspected of collaborating with and ISWAP, in a fresh crackdown on insurgent logistics networks in Borno State.
Security sources revealed that the suspects were apprehended on April 13 in the Abari general area of Monguno Local Government Area by operatives of the Sector 3 Military Intelligence Brigade, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). The development was reported by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama.
The suspects have been identified as Falmata Abukar (43), Halima Audu (35), and Mairo Abba (17).
According to military sources, the women were intercepted while attempting to move from Abari to Mararaba village in Kukawa Local Government Area—an area known for insurgent activity within the Lake Chad region.
Items recovered from them include 12 pairs of suspected terrorist uniform materials, 176 bottles of herbicide, 22 wrappers, 24 children’s clothing items, a mosquito net, a mat, and ₦15,500 in cash.
Authorities believe the seized items were intended as logistics support for insurgents operating around the Lake Chad axis, highlighting the continued reliance of terrorist groups on civilian supply chains.
The suspects are currently in military custody, where they are undergoing preliminary investigations to determine the extent of their involvement and any links to broader terrorist networks.
Security analysts say the operation reflects a growing focus by the Nigerian military on disrupting supply routes and targeting non-combatant collaborators who play critical roles in sustaining insurgent activities.
The latest arrests underscore ongoing efforts by Operation Hadin Kai to weaken the operational capacity of terrorist groups by cutting off their access to essential materials and support systems across the North-East.
