The Iru Ẹ̀kún Security Network, a security outfit linked to Yoruba nation activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has alleged that Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq prevented the group from carrying out a planned visit to the state.
The allegation was made in a voice message reportedly issued by the Osun State Administrator of the security network, Bolarinwa Kazeem Ayobami, who said the visit was suspended following what he described as the governor’s objection.
According to Ayobami, the planned visit was intended to meet members of the Iru Ẹ̀kún Security Network already operating in parts of Kwara State amid growing concerns over insecurity in the region.
He claimed the organisation decided to cancel the visit to avoid exposing its members in Kwara State to potential security risks.
Ayobami further alleged that Governor AbdulRazaq opposed the planned visit because of his Fulani background. However, he did not provide evidence to support the claim.
Following the cancellation of the Kwara visit, the organisation announced that the scheduled engagement had been converted into an internal command meeting for its officers in Osun State.
The allegations come at a time of increasing concern over insecurity in parts of Kwara South, where residents have repeatedly reported attacks, kidnappings, and other violent crimes allegedly carried out by armed criminal groups.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kwara State Government had not issued an official response to the allegations made by the Iru Ẹ̀kún Security Network.
