The African Action Congress (AAC), Ondo State Chapter, has announced the death of its candidate for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Comrade Ojajuni Justice.
The party announced his death in a tribute dated August 15, describing him as a committed activist, fearless advocate for the oppressed and a “soldier of the people.”
The AAC said Ojajuni’s death represents a major loss not only to the party but also to the broader progressive movement in Ondo State.
In its tribute, the party described the late candidate as more than a politician, saying he was deeply committed to the ideals of justice, equality and the protection of citizens’ rights.
According to the AAC, Ojajuni chose to contest under its platform because of his belief in building a Nigeria founded on justice, equity and the defence of ordinary citizens.
The party recalled his activities during the election campaign, particularly his engagement with people at the grassroots and what it described as his refusal to compromise his principles for political convenience.
The AAC said he consistently placed collective interests above personal gain and stood up for people it described as voiceless and oppressed.
“His passing in the midst of political struggles is a devastating blow not only to our party but to the entire progressive movement in Ondo State and beyond,” the party said.
The Ondo State chapter expressed condolences to Ojajuni’s family, friends, political associates and comrades, describing him as “a true comrade, a brother-in-arms, and a beacon of hope.”
The party also urged its members across Ondo State and Nigeria to remain committed to the causes Ojajuni championed and not allow his death to weaken their resolve.
“Let us not allow the death of Comrade Ojajuni Justice to be in vain. Let his sacrifice strengthen our resolve to continue the struggle for which he gave his all,” the AAC said.
The party pledged to preserve his memory and described his contribution to its political movement as part of its history.
“You fought the good fight. You stood for the people. And in the hearts of every true AAC member in Ondo State, you shall forever remain alive,” the statement added.
The tribute concluded with the words: “Rest in power, Comrade. Aluta continua! Victoria ascerta!”
