A fire outbreak in the early hours of New Year’s Day gutted parts of the popular Cake Hut Restaurant located in Wuse 2, Abuja, triggering panic among residents, customers, and passersby in the bustling area.
SUNTV Global gathered that the fire broke out around midnight, coinciding with the “Happy New Year, 2026” announcement, just as celebrations were at their peak. Eyewitnesses said thick smoke and flames suddenly erupted from the restaurant, forcing people nearby to flee for safety amid confusion and fear.
