Fresh tensions have erupted in the Middle East after Israel launched a new wave of airstrikes on multiple targets inside Iran, despite reports that United States President Donald Trump had urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to avoid further military retaliation.

The latest strikes targeted locations in Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, and Karaj, according to international media reports. The attacks came shortly after Iran launched missiles toward Israel in response to Israeli bombardments in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

The growing confrontation has raised fears of a wider regional conflict involving Israel, Iran, and Lebanon, with concerns that critical energy infrastructure across the Middle East could become targets.

Reports indicate that President Trump personally appealed to Netanyahu to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could further escalate the crisis. Trump reportedly stated that both sides had already exchanged attacks and should avoid another round of hostilities.

Despite the appeal, the Israeli military announced that it had completed an extensive operation involving dozens of fighter jets. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the strikes targeted Iranian military infrastructure, including radar systems, surface-to-air missile launchers, and other strategic defense facilities.

Iran, however, described its earlier missile attacks as a warning and vowed stronger retaliation if Israel continued its military operations. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed carrying out missile strikes against facilities in the Israeli city of Haifa, describing the action as a response to what it called aggression against Iranian interests.

Iranian officials also warned that continued attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure could trigger broader strikes across the region, potentially affecting global energy markets.

Meanwhile, the conflict has continued to spill over into Lebanon, where tensions involving Hezbollah remain high. Israeli officials have warned that further attacks from Hezbollah could lead to intensified military operations around Beirut.

The rapidly unfolding situation has generated international concern, with world leaders closely monitoring developments amid fears that the crisis could expand into a larger regional war.

SUNTV Global Channel will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as events unfold.
