KWARA APC CRISIS DEEPENS AS GOV. ABDULRAZAQ ACCUSED OF PURCHASING TWO SENATORIAL FORMS

Tensions have intensified within the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following allegations that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq purchased two separate Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Kwara Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 elections.

Internal party documents obtained by SaharaReporters reportedly show that the governor’s name appears twice on the official list of senatorial aspirants, raising concerns among party members over possible irregularities in the nomination process.

According to the records, the entries—listed separately under the same name—are linked to different payment receipts, form serial numbers, and purchase dates, suggesting that two distinct submissions were made.

The first transaction is said to correspond with a form purchased on April 29, 2026, while the second was reportedly obtained on April 30, 2026. Both entries reportedly carry different receipt and serial numbers despite bearing identical names.

The development has sparked confusion and outrage within the party, with some stakeholders questioning the transparency of the process and calling for clarification from both the APC leadership and the governor.

Party members are reportedly demanding explanations on how two forms were issued under the same name and whether proper verification procedures were followed during the sales process.

The controversy has further deepened existing political tensions within the Kwara APC, as internal disagreements over candidate selection and succession plans continue to widen divisions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Some aggrieved members have allegedly begun considering defection to other political platforms, citing frustration over what they describe as lack of clear leadership direction within the party structure in the state.

In a related development, political activities in Kwara have also intensified following the declaration of interest by several key figures seeking elective positions under the APC platform.

Efforts to obtain official clarification from the APC state leadership were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report, as party spokespersons were reportedly unavailable for comment.

The allegations remain unverified by independent electoral authorities, and Governor AbdulRazaq has yet to publicly respond to the claims.
