Ishielu Council Chairman Thanks Residents for Support, Sets September 1 Date for Swearing-In

The Executive Chairman of Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Hon. Chief Mrs Ifeoma Peace Agwu, has expressed appreciation to the people of Ishielu for what she described as overwhelming support, solidarity and encouragement throughout the recent electioneering period.

In a statement dated August 27, 2026, Agwu thanked residents, stakeholders and party supporters across the local government for their commitment and contributions to the electoral process.

She said the support received from the people, from campaign activities through the election, demonstrated the strength of the collective spirit of Ishielu.

Agwu disclosed that her Certificate of Return had been secured and announced that the swearing-in ceremony would take place on September 1, 2026.

She urged the people of Ishielu to join her administration as it begins another chapter of service to the local government.

The chairman also expressed appreciation to stakeholders, party faithful across the 16 wards, and individuals who contributed in various ways to the electoral process.

She extended particular gratitude to Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and his wife, Chief Mrs Uzoamaka Nwifuru, for what she described as their fatherly and motherly support and goodwill throughout the journey.

Agwu also thanked the All Progressives Congress (APC) for providing the platform, leadership and unity that guided the electioneering process. She appreciated party leaders, stakeholders and faithful members across Ishielu for standing together and for the confidence reposed in her administration.

Describing herself as “The Great Peacemaker in Ishielu,” Agwu also highlighted her administration’s record as the first female administration to undertake concrete road construction in Ishielu, according to the statement.

As the swearing-in ceremony approaches, the chairman said her focus remains firmly on the people, adding that she remains conscious of the trust placed in her and would continue to serve with humility, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility.

She concluded by praying for God’s blessings upon the people of Ishielu, Governor Nwifuru and his family, the APC, and Ishielu Local Government Area.
