February 24, 2026 — SUNTV Global Channel Report

Panic has gripped residents of a border community between Kwara State and Kogi State following a deadly attack by suspected bandits that left at least three people dead.

According to findings by SaharaReporters, the assault occurred on Monday evening around the boundary area linking Koro-Ekiti and Egbe in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The attackers, described by locals as heavily armed bandits, reportedly stormed the Koro community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, targeting unsuspecting residents.

Sources said the victims were members of the Kemberi community who were ambushed during the late-night raid. Three people were confirmed killed, while many others fled into surrounding bushes to escape the gunmen.

Earlier in the day, tension had already been rising after residents reported hearing prolonged gunfire between Koro and Eruku, sparking fears of an impending attack.

Community members have now raised fresh alarm over worsening insecurity in the region, alleging that the nearby Ogbe Forest has increasingly become a suspected hideout for armed groups operating across the border axis.

As of the time of filing this report, security authorities had yet to release an official statement on the incident.
