United States Congressman Riley Moore has warned that “much work still lies ahead” after raising alarm over escalating terrorism and persistent killings in Nigeria during a meeting with the country’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
In a statement shared on X on Monday, Moore said the talks centered on the ongoing terrorist activities in the North-East and the deadly attacks in the Middle Belt—issues he described as major priorities for President Donald Trump and himself.
Moore noted that both his delegation and Nigerian security officials discussed several actionable measures that, if fully implemented, could significantly strengthen national security.
“There were concrete steps and actions discussed at length that, if fully executed, I believe will enhance security across the country for all Nigerians, disrupt and destroy terrorist organisations in the northeast, and stop the killing of Christians—an issue of specific concern to @POTUS and me—particularly in the Middle Belt,” he said.
