Residents of Gubuchi community in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been thrown into fear after armed men suspected to be bandits invaded the community and abducted a prominent businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Rabo Gesha.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday night when the attackers stormed the community and opened fire sporadically before taking Gesha away.
Gesha is said to be a well-known businessman and philanthropist with strong ties to the community.
A security source, identified as Bakatsine, confirmed the abduction on Tuesday, saying the incident had left residents deeply concerned about their safety.
According to the source, the attackers operated during the night, raising fresh concerns over the growing threat of armed groups targeting communities in Kaduna State after dark.
Residents are reportedly anxiously awaiting the safe return of the businessman, while concerns continue to mount over the security situation in rural communities across the state.
The latest incident has renewed calls for stronger security measures to protect vulnerable communities from night-time attacks, kidnappings and other forms of violence.
As of the time of this report, there was no official statement from the Kaduna State Government or security agencies regarding the abduction or the whereabouts of the victim.
