LAGOS, Nigeria — The Lagos State Government has sealed two warehouses identified as Oluremi Tinubu Warehouse and Anambra Warehouse at Ijesha Bus Stop over alleged repeated violations of environmental sanitation laws.

The enforcement operation was carried out by the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) through its Waste Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement (WISE) team in collaboration with the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps and the Nigeria Police.

According to LAWMA Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the warehouses were sealed following persistent indiscriminate dumping of refuse on a road median despite previous warnings.

He said the action reflects the state government’s commitment to protecting public infrastructure, maintaining a cleaner environment, and ensuring strict compliance with environmental regulations.

Gbadegesin stated that the affected facilities would remain sealed until all environmental compliance requirements are fully met to the satisfaction of the relevant authorities.

He also urged residents, businesses, and institutions to adopt responsible waste disposal practices, warning that environmental laws would continue to be enforced without exception.

The latest enforcement forms part of the Lagos State Government’s ongoing campaign to curb illegal waste disposal and improve environmental sanitation across the state.
